InFocus IN1100 Projector Series now available
InFocus Corp has just announced the release of two new projectors in the IN1100 series – the company’s smallest and lightest projectors. Loaded with various input ports, users should have no problem plugging in a video source through one of the projector’s HDMI, VGA, s-video and composite connections. HDMI-inputs mean that you can even plug in your smartphone or tablet (provided it supports HDMI output). The projector even features ports for connecting to external audio systems if the need arises.
Weighing only 2.7lbs and shining bright at up to 2200 lumens, the two new IN1100 series projectors are targeted at businesses and traveling professionals. The projectors come with XGA (1024 x 768) and WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution for HD projection without scaling. The higher end models are even capable of displaying 3D content. With prices ranging from $975-$1099, the InFocus IN1100 Projector Series comes with a 5-year warranty and is available now.

From what I've read it seems those adapter cables don't work very well and give a distorted ugly picture, however they're only around $5-$10. I hear much better things about the transcoders, specifically the "active" ones. They however will set me back for around $250. The "passive" transcoders are also supposed to be good and only run around $75 which is about what I'm willing to spend. The difference between "active" & "passive" transcoders is the "active" ones will scale the resolution while the "passive" ones do not.
