El trienio adeco

Creemos que antes de entrar en el análisis del serio y estimulante libro Rafael Arráiz Lucca(1959): El trienio adeco(1945-1948) y las conquistas de la ciudadanía(Caracas: Alfa, 2011.165 p.) se requiere hacer algunas observaciones relativas el hecho que hizo posible la llegada al poder de los militares insurgentes, encabezados por Marcos Pérez Jiménez(1914-2001) y el partido Acción Democrática, con su líder Rómulo Betancourt(1908-1981) delante de ellos. Hay que decir que este libro de Arráiz, surgido de su tesis de doctorado en Historia, obtenido en la UCAB, se debe señalar que estamos ante uno de los mejores libros sobre nuestra historia contemporánea publicados en la última década. Lo situaríamos al lado de otros tres, que van a aparecer varias veces en esta reseña, La revolución olvidada(Caracas: Fundación Olavarría, 2008. XI,431 p.) de Jorge Olavarría(1933-2005) el que consideramos el mejor análisis hasta ahora publicado sobre el 18 de Octubre de 1945 y la Historia de los venezolanos en el siglo XX(Caracas: Alfa, 2010.396 p.) de Manuel Caballero(1931-2010). El tercero es también de Jorge Olavarría: Gómez, un enigma histórico.(Caracas: Fundación Olavarría, 2007. XXXII, 955 p.) que es el quinto gran libro que se dedica a este personaje, le antecedieron los de Domingo Alberto Rangel(Gómez, el amo del poder,1975), Ramón  J.Velasquez(Confidencias imaginarias de Juan Vicente Gómez, 1979), el de Tomás Polanco(Juan Vicente Gómez, aproximación a una biografía, 1990) y el de Manuel Caballero(Gómez, el tirano liberal, 1993). Gómez, un enigma histórico es obra que enseña tanto y suscita tantísimas reflexiones sobre este país y los modos de gobernar. Así con estos cuatro libros en las manos estamos ante sólidas y orientadoras obras sobre los que temas que tratan.
