Holder allegedly protected Hamas-linked CAIR for political reasons
In a case that is sure to anger many Americans, Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced Friday that it has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Justice (DOJ) for failing to respond to its request for public records under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) ( Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of JusticeThe documents relate to a decision by Attorney General Eric Holder's minions not to prosecute the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and its co-founder Omar Ahmad, who has been linked by federal investigators to the terrorist group Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip in Israel. The decision not to prosecute reportedly was made over the objections of special agents of the FBI and prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Dallas, Texas.
On May 9, 2011, Judicial Watch sent a FOIA request to the DOJ’s Office of Information Policy (OIP) seeking access to the following:
The March 31, 2010 memorandum entitled “Declination of Prosecution of Omar Ahmad from Attorney General David Kris to Acting Deputy Attorney General Gary Grindler. “Any and all communications, contacts, or correspondence between the Office of the Attorney General (AG), the Office of Deputy Attorney General (DAG), or the Office of the Associate Attorney General (Assoc. AG) and the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) or any CAIR groups concerning, regarding, or relating to the prosecution or declination of prosecution of Omar Ahmad.” “Any all communications, contacts, or correspondence between the Office of the AG, the Office of the DAG, or the Office of the Assoc. AG and the U.S. Congress concerning, regarding, or relating to the prosecution or declination of prosecution of Omar Ahmad” “Any and all communications, contacts, or correspondence between the office of the AG, the office of the DAG, or the office of the Assoc. AG and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas concerning, regarding, or relating to the prosecution or declination of prosecution of Omar Ahmad.”On May 9, 2011, Judicial Watch also filed a similar request with the DOJ’s National Security Division (NSD) seeking access to contacts and correspondence between the NSD and CAIR, Congress, and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Texas regarding the decision not to prosecute. The time frame for these requests is January 20, 2009, to May 1, 2011.

A group of Gateway Presbyterian made a trip to the Holy Land in April, and now they are in the midst of a four-part series of talks to tell their parishioners of all.
Gateway Pastor Jim Hazlett was asked to develop the 10-day tour, which was joined by 18 people in the area of The Dalles. All but two of the 18 were from Gateway. They used a tour service that allowed longer stops at sacred sites.
Two subjects before the round of talks on the tour hit the geography of Israel and Jericho and Galilee. This Sunday Dingman, sand and Steve and Dick Voll about Jericho, the Dead Sea and the "gift of the Jews." Topic next Sunday in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Mt. Of Olives, will be presented by Connie and Merrie Akita Karp. Each subject also addresses relevant Bible passages about each area.
The talks take place at 9:45 in the Sunday School classes for adults.
"You feel you are constantly on the sacred history, that you are praying to the same God that Jews have prayed," Hazlett said of the tour.
A particularly moving part for Hazlett was praying at the Wailing Wall, a 187-foot remnant of the ancient wall surrounding Judaism’s most sacred shrine, the Temple Mount within the Old City of Jerusalem.
As was the custom, he wrote his prayers on a piece of paper, rolled it up, and tucked it into a crevice in the wall. The papers are removed weekly.
The Old City of Jerusalem is a small, ancient, walled-off area that contains sacred sites of three religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Israel, a land sacked and rebuilt by 11 different empires, has multiple layers of civilization.
“In Jerusalem we were walking above the layer that Jesus walked,” Hazlett said. “Fifteen feet below us was the layer of Jerusalem of Jesus’ time.” Hazlett had been to Israel 20 years earlier, but because the ancient land area is the site of perpetual archaeological digs, “I saw things on this trip that I didn’t see 20 years ago, because they had been unearthed.”
Because their tour service makes room “for spiritual digressions along the way, we baptized 18 people in the Jordan River,” Hazlett said. They were all from different Christian faiths, including Presbyterians and Catholics. “The purpose of the baptism was basically just to identify with Christ as his disciple.
“One man had a religious conversion experience being baptized.
